Electronic Billing

Effective September 1, 2019 for auto medical billing and November 1, 2019 for workers’ compensation medical billing, the New Jersey Property-Liability Insurance Guaranty Association will accept electronic medical bills for payment on standardized forms in accordance with the laws and guidelines established by the State of New Jersey.

New Jersey has long recognized the importance of protecting policyholders and claimants in the property-casualty and workers’ compensation insurance marketplace.

The New Jersey Property-Liability Insurance Guaranty Association (“Association”) provides a safety net designed to mitigate the effects of loss on claimants and policyholders who, through no fault of their own, find themselves without coverage.

This safety net includes three separate entities that administer the claims of insolvent insurance carriers. These are:

A fourth entity, the Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund (“UCJF”) administers the claims associated with uninsured motorists and personal injury protection claims of uninsured pedestrians struck by private passenger automobiles.
